Join Blake 12, an 18-bed multidisciplinary ICU at the forefront of innovation, where you’ll not only care for the most complex patients—including abdominal and lung transplant cases—but also ignite the professional journeys of nurses at every stage. What Makes This Role Exceptional? Champion of Nurse Education: As a Nursing Practice Specialist, you’ll be the driving force behind continuous learning. You’ll help to deliver education that is grounded in evidence-based practice, mentor new and experienced nurses, and create hands-on opportunities for skill advancement. This role incorporates the ability to oversee professional development and education of all staff while also being able to do real-time bedside teaching. You’ll ensure every nurse has the tools and confidence to excel. Mentor and Role Model: Inspire up-and-coming nurses by sharing your expertise in critical care, transplant, and advanced therapies. Through collaborative consultation and role modeling, you’ll nurture clinical excellence and compassionate care, helping nurses grow into leaders themselves. Innovator in Practice: Lead the way in evidence-based care by integrating the latest research, technology, and best practices. You’ll guide the team in adopting new protocols, solving complex challenges, and continuously improving patient outcomes. Collaborative Leader: Work side-by-side with the Nursing Director and a multidisciplinary team to foster a culture of support, inclusion, and professional development. Your leadership will motivate others, manage change, and build strong partnerships across all levels of care. Summary Responsible for developing educational programs, clinical decision-making, management of quality outcomes, and participation in research activities. Provide patient care in the clinical environment, health promotion, disease prevention, health education, and patient and family counseling activities.

Requirements

  • Master’s degree in nursing (required)
  • Current Massachusetts RN license
  • At least 5 years of critical care nursing experience; transplant experience a plus
  • Demonstrated leadership and a passion for education
  • Bachelor's Degree Nursing required
  • Master's Degree Nursing required
  • Registered Nurse [RN - State License] preferred
  • Clinical Nurse Specialist [CNS] [State License] preferred
  • Clinical nursing experience 3-5 years required
  • Clinical education experience 2-3 years preferred
  • Nursing leadership experience 1-2 years preferred
  • In-depth knowledge of clinical nursing care practices and principles.
  • Strong clinical assessment and critical thinking skills.
  • Proficiency in developing and implementing evidence-based care plans.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate effectively with interdisciplinary teams, patients, and families.
  • Leadership abilities to provide guidance, mentorship, and education to nursing staff.
  • Ability to stay updated on the latest advancements in nursing skills and patient care through continuous learning and professional development.

Nice To Haves

  • Certification in critical care nursing (preferred)

Responsibilities

  • Deliver expert clinical consultation and support for complex patient care.

  • Provides expert-level consultation and advises clinical staff on the formulation of diagnoses and treatment plans for patients and families.
  • Plans and delivers relevant staff and patient education to nurses and other members of the health care team on matters regarding plan of care for patient and family.
  • Actively participates in research and evidence-based practice activities that will positively affect patient care outcomes.
  • Provide health care services to patients.
  • Forming a diagnosis and management and treatment of illness and disease.
