About The Position

The Nursing Manager is responsible for updating and implementing policies and procedures in compliance with DDDS and regulatory standards. This role involves supervising, training, and supporting nursing staff (RNs and LPNs), ensuring adherence to clinical protocols, assessments, and required documentation. Key duties include monitoring health services, medication management, audits, and incident reporting. The manager will also conduct staff meetings, trainings, and provide performance feedback, coordinate admissions, transfers, and ongoing care planning. Communication with families, agencies, and internal teams is essential, as is responding to medical concerns, providing triage, and reporting serious issues. Maintaining records, confidentiality (HIPAA), and required certifications, along with serving as a liaison with external partners and supporting team participation, are also part of the role. The position aims to ensure quality care, particularly for persons with intellectual and developmental disabilities.

Requirements

  • Graduation from an approved nursing school
  • 2+ years of relevant experience required, preferably working with persons with intellectual and developmental disabilities.
  • 2-5+ years of administrative experience.
  • Licensed as a Registered Nurse in the State of Delaware or another compact state.
  • Valid certification in CPR/FA.
