About The Position

INTRODUCTION: The In Home program assists adults in maintaining themselves in their own homes despite a decrease in ability. Provides one-on-one patient interaction in a home setting. Payment is through Medicaid, VA, Long term care insurance and Private Pay. Visiting Nurse Association of Southeast Missouri is a non-profit organization. Will also assist with Private Duty nursing one day a week. Private Duty nursing is a one-on-one care in the home typically serving pediatric clients, who have specialized healthcare needs and require long-term skilled medical care. TYPE OF WORK INVOLVED: In home nursing provides weekly medication setup, Diabetic and Anticoagulant nailcare, general health assessments, check vital signs and supervision of staff performing advanced tasks in the home. TRAINING: Training involves a 30 day period where policies and procedures are covered. Computer training will cover the use of the handheld used to make patient visits.

Requirements

  • Must be at least 18 years of age
  • Have at least one year of nursing experience, one year in Hospice or Home Health setting preferred, and a Missouri nursing license.
  • Must have reliable transportation and proof of automobile insurance.
  • Must pass pre-employment drug screening, criminal background check, registered w/Family Care Reg.
  • Must not be listed on Employee Disqualification List (EDL)
  • Must complete an application in full and furnish at least 2 credible business references with correct addresses and telephone numbers.
  • Must be able to lift a minimum of 35
