About The Position

Onondaga Community College, located in Syracuse, NY is currently recruiting for a Full Time Tenure Track Nursing Instructor Nursing/LPN . Be a part of the dynamic team that helps shape the next generation of nurses! The Nursing Department invites applications for a full-time tenure track faculty appointment in our ACEN-accredited Associate Degree Nursing program and/ or upcoming Licensed Practical Nurse program. Major responsibilities include teaching nursing theory, clinical instruction and evaluation, lab instruction and evaluation; curriculum development and evaluation with opportunities to incorporate SIMS activities, student mentoring and advisement to ensure strengthening of knowledge, skills, and competencies.

Requirements

• Master's degree in Nursing from an accredited college, university or foreign equivalency is required to instruct in the AAS RN program.
• At least three (3) years current acute-care experience, recent preferred.
• Candidates must be qualified to assist students with bedside nursing care and possess a broad knowledge of current and evolving clinical technology with advanced computer skills.

• College, vocational or proprietary school teaching experience.
• Experience with designing and conducting clinical laboratory simulations and a working knowledge of operating simulation manikins.

Responsibilities

• Use appropriate technology to deliver and enhance learning
• Be innovative in the presentation of lectures and hands-on learning activities that achieve learning outcomes
• Provide timely feedback on students' assignments and exams throughout each semester
• Assess learning outcomes and adapt curriculum to meet learning objectives
• Be responsive to student questions and available for student support
• Demonstrate insight and encouragement in working with diverse student populations, especially students traditionally underrepresented in higher education
• Provide appropriate academic advising to students to support timely degree or certification completion
• Be accountable to meet the needs of the Department and the College, including timely submission of grades and other required materials.
