About The Position

In this role, you'll have the opportunity to teach in various settings, while also contributing to committee work within our nursing programs. Please note, we are looking for candidates with flexibility to teach in either our Daytime program, Monday - Friday 9-5, and our Evening/Weekend program which includes the following hours of availability: Monday - Friday 1-9 pm and Saturdays 8am-4pm.

Requirements

  • Master’s Degree in Nursing
  • Professional nurse licensure required
  • Minimum of 2 years of nursing experience working in a clinical setting
  • Experientially prepared to teach assigned courses
  • Maintain current regulatory and practice credentials, when appropriate, based on assignment
  • Excellent communication skills along with a high level of initiative and prudent judgment
  • Scholarship Requirements: Demonstrates scholarship congruent with the level of rank.
  • Education and experience must align with regulations in the state and comply with the rules and regulations of state authorization agencies, which may include the higher education board and/or licensing board in multiple states.

Responsibilities

  • Implement the College’s philosophy, curriculum, and course objectives through diverse teaching methods, including classroom, online, and clinical settings.
  • Develop and revise course materials annually, ensuring they meet the highest standards of educational excellence.
  • Take full responsibility for your teaching load, delivering high-quality education independently.
  • Monitor clinical agencies for suitability, plan clinical experiences, and provide direct and indirect supervision of nursing students.
  • Collaborate with clinical agencies and University departments to oversee and evaluate clinical preceptors and mentors.
  • Offer constructive feedback based on course outcomes and provide remediation as needed.
  • Keep students informed about agency and clinical policies, procedures, and expectations.
  • Serve as a positive role model, assisting students in their professional and social growth.
  • Mentor new faculty members and lead by example in customer service, collaboration, communication, and professionalism.
  • Engage in professional activities outside the University to stay current in the field.
  • Participate in the development, implementation, and evaluation of University programs and philosophy.
  • Provide academic counseling and advisement to students, addressing potential and real concerns.
  • Contribute to the creation and evaluation of student admission, progression, retention, and graduation policies.
  • Facilitate student and graduate evaluations of curriculum and teaching effectiveness.
  • Offer insights on budgetary needs to program leaders.
  • Chair or serve on University committees and work groups, contributing to accreditation preparation and continuous quality improvement.
  • Act as course coordinator, lead, or Subject Matter Expert (SME), documenting actions taken in faculty and committee meetings.
  • Demonstrate scholarship through teaching, discovery, application, or integration, keeping course materials current and evidence-based.
