About The Position

This role involves operating various nursery/farm machinery and equipment to load materials such as soil, rock, mulch, natural stone, and concrete onto trucks and trailers. The individual will be responsible for performing routine light maintenance on equipment, pulling orders in a timely manner, and collaborating with buyers and the sales team to ensure the yard is stocked and inventory is accurate. Providing excellent customer service and performing general Nursery Person duties as directed are also key aspects of the role. The position requires working outdoors in all weather conditions and may involve training other staff and assisting in other areas as needed. Overtime and flexibility are required during peak season, and the position is subject to seasonal reassignment.

Requirements

High school diploma plus 2-year certificate in related field
Two years’ experience in operation of nursery/farm machinery and equipment including tractors, skid loaders, forklift, front-end loader, dump truck, tree space, road grader semi-tractor/trailer, and/or others
Must be able to lift 50lbs regularly
Valid driver’s license
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
Position requires working outdoors in all weather conditions

Nice To Haves

Training in CPR and First Aid desirable
Landscape hardgoods knowledge strongly preferred

Responsibilities

Load soil, rock, mulch, natural stone and concrete materials on trucks and trailers
Operate all equipment in a safe, responsible manner
Perform routine light maintenance on equipment
Pull orders in a timely manner
Work with buyers and sales team to keep yard stocked and inventory accurate
Provide excellent customer service
Perform all Nursery Person duties as directed
Train other staff as needed
Perform equipment and facilities maintenance and housekeeping duties as directed
