About The Position

Responsible for working as a team with other territory crew members to complete all work in accordance with Goodmark's production and quality standards. Follow through with daily and weekly assignments set by your territory team lead and production manager. Establish and maintain a good working relationship with your territory team lead, production manager, and team members. Keep your territory team lead informed of progress and problems on the job. Maintain a positive image for the nurseries in the field. Requirements

  • Nursery experience preferred.
  • The ability to communicate in English is preferred.
  • Must be available to work full time.

Responsibilities

  • Field Prep Select fields to clear, Prep in Fall, Install manure and cover crops
  • Planting - Determine which liners to plant in fields depending on physical conditions (Proximity to roads, wet areas, and alkaline areas.)
  • Digging Work with Yard Manager to create dig list indicating field location and ball size to dig, prioritize harvesting schedule according to efficiency and customer demand. Develop speculative dig list in conjunction with supervisor to clear fields for future planting and sales
  • Staging Work with Yard Manager to stage dug material
  • Watering Water all dug material until it is moved to the yard.
  • Pruning Prune based on nursery standard to create uniformity throughout territories
  • Staking Stake based on nursery standard to create uniformity throughout territories
  • Mowing Mow based on nursery standard to create uniformity throughout territories
  • Weed Control Apply herbicide based on nursery standard to create uniformity throughout territories
  • Irrigation Manage irrigation throughout territory based on nursery standard to create uniformity
  • Fertilization Apply granular fertilizer to territory
  • Ensure quality and precision of all work, including attending to the details.
  • Assist in recruiting and referring individuals to fill open positions in your territory. Complete the hiring process in conjunction with your manager and human resources.
  • Efficiently complete projects set by your territory team lead.
  • Follow all safety policies and procedures and immediately reporting any accidents.
  • Properly use and care for all equipment assigned to your crew. Keep your truck, equipment and small tools clean and maintained.
  • Report all equipment problems to your foreman so he may report it to the shop for repair.
  • Equipment and personnel will be shared with other territories in order to accomplish overall nursery goals.
  • Follow all nursery policies and procedures as outlined and communicated.
  • Review the timesheet completed by the territory team lead daily for accuracy.
  • Communicate effectively with your territory team lead, other team members, and other personnel within the nursery.
  • Actively engage in and implement all training for production purposes and to assist in your career development allowing for future promotion.
  • Assist in developing creative solutions to problems that may arise in the course of a workday.
  • Must have the ability to lift at least 60 pounds
