As a Nursery Labor team member, your responsibilities include caring for our living inventory, including watering, repotting, fertilizing, pruning, and applying pesticide treatments. Nursery Labor team members are also responsible for accepting daily plant deliveries, keeping shelves and work areas organized, and maintaining a facility that is clean, presentable, and well-maintained. This position requires physical strength and stamina, as it involves significant manual labor and working outdoors in a variety of weather conditions. Candidates should possess the following core competencies: Prompt and reliable - Timeliness is crucial in caring for our perishable inventory. Attentive and thorough - Subtle differences between plant species and individual specimens are key to organization and care. Working with a sense of urgency, taking initiative, and finishing tasks completely are qualities we require in our department. Desire to learn - No prior horticultural experience is required, but a willingness to learn and adapt is key. Physical stamina - You must be willing to work outside in all weather conditions and be able to lift 65 lbs repeatedly. Nursery Labor starts at $17/hour with a seasonal, performance-based raise structure. No prior experience is necessary. Anyone with a background in hospitality, manual labor, horticulture, and landscaping are encouraged to apply. This position begins early March, marking the start of our Spring season.
