About The Position

Calo is seeking a knowledgeable, compassionate, and dedicated Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) or Registered Nurse (RN) to join our multidisciplinary team. The nurse plays a vital role in promoting the health, safety, and well-being of our preadolescent and adolescent students. This position supports high-quality nursing care, ensures regulatory compliance, and contributes to a positive and healthy program culture. The ideal candidate will demonstrate strong critical‑thinking skills, sound clinical judgment, and a commitment to creating a safe and nurturing environment for the students we serve.

Requirements

  • At least 21 years of age
  • Ability to pass criminal background check
  • Free of communicable disease, other evidence of ill health, or a condition which adversely affects ability to care for or poses a threat to children
  • Current Missouri or compact state license (in good standing as an LPN or RN.
  • Current BLS Healthcare Provider certification.

Nice To Haves

  • Psychiatric or residential nursing experience preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Provide direct nursing care following Calo standards and SOPs.
  • Administer medications safely and accurately.
  • Triage and treat illnesses and injuries within scope of practice.
  • Follow infection control protocols and respond to infectious diseases.
  • Complete all documentation in BestNotes by end of shift.
  • Perform waived testing, phlebotomy, and basic nursing procedures.
  • Process physician orders and maintain student health compliance.
  • Support and guide unlicensed nursing staff.
  • Maintain healthy boundaries and positive relationships with students and staff.
