About The Position

As a Nurse for Alternatives, you will primarily work at the Passages facility but may also assist with resident needs at Alpha House as required. Duties include, but are not limited to: Obtaining, reviewing, and storing accurate medical files and records, including obtaining medical records from other institutions as needed. Upholding strict HIPAA and agency policy requirements to ensure the privacy of our residents. Following up with residents who have suffered accidents or injuries. Managing special diets and related issues in cooperation with food services. Assisting offenders in managing chronic conditions, such as diabetes. Providing first aid as needed. Completing all requirements for the Department of Corrections, including preparing medical transfer sheets and ensuring transfer medications for residents moving to another facility. This role requires great confidentiality, care, and coordination with other Agency departments.

Requirements

Accredited LPN or RN education and current Montana licensure.
Valid driver’s license and agency insurability.
Ability to pass a drug test, including federally prohibited substances.
Ability to pass a background check.
Ability to relate to offenders; previous corrections experience is a plus.

Pro Rata Basis: Accrual rates for employees working 20-30 hours per week are on a pro rata basis.
