About The Position

Joining the team as a Nurse Unit Manager, you will oversee the day-to-day clinical and operational management of our 30-bed haematology and oncology ward. This role will see you: Be accountable for the efficient and effective management of all human and material resources Oversee the day to day running of the ward, skilled in ensuring hospital polices are adhered to especially recognising and responding to clinical deterioration Organise staff education, ensuring mandatory competencies are up to date Be a positive mentor and provide clinical leadership and support to your team Working with and supporting other managers within the wider hospital community in achieving excellence in patient outcomes Assist in shaping organisational strategy, improve procedural service provision and achieve departmental and Hospital strategic objectives. You’ll be leading a fast-paced department and collaborating with a wide multi-disciplinary team, dedicated to ensuring our patients receive holistic individualised care.

Requirements

  • Current registration with AHPRA
  • Competent in supervising, leading, directing and mentoring staff to achieve excellent outcomes
  • Minimum 5 years postgraduate experience in acute care environment
  • Demonstrated extensive clinical skills and experience within haematology and oncology nursing.
  • Effective management of rostering processes and allocation of duties of both clinical and non-clinical staff
  • Provide or complete a National Police Check (conducted within the last 12 months)
  • According to the role, Ramsay may require a Working-With-Children check and proof of immunisation against infectious diseases.

  • Post-graduate studies or, progression towards, in an appropriate specialty or management qualifications will be highly regarded.
