About The Position

Under the supervision of a Registered Nurse (RN), the Nurse Technician performs basic patient care activities and unit support tasks to promote safe, efficient care and patient throughput. Assists with activities of daily living, routine monitoring, and maintaining a clean, well-stocked environment; supports nursing/physician staff and tech desk operations. Maria Parham is a 98-bed hospital located in Henderson, NC. Requirements

• CNA certification required
• BCLS required
• Critical thinking, decisive judgment, ability to work with minimal supervision in a stressful environment
• Rapid learning and navigation of multiple software systems
• Effective English communication (read/write/speak)
• Ability to complete the Skills Competency Checklist within 90 days of hire.

Nice To Haves

• High School diploma
• SRNA or EMT preferred
• Handle with Care preferred

Responsibilities

• Performs basic patient care as delegated and supervised by an RN, including monitoring vital signs, possible blood glucose measurements, and accurate intake/output recording.
• Assists patients with activities of daily living (bathing, grooming, eating, toileting, ambulation).
• Observes and promptly reports abnormal physical, mental, or emotional findings to nursing staff.
• Keeps patient rooms and common areas clean, safe, and appropriately stocked.
• Manages the tech desk; supports nursing/physician staff and department throughput.
• Documents care and activities per unit standards.
• Participates in performance improvement and required education; performs other duties as assigned.
