As a Nurse Technician, you play a valuable part in our dynamic team of caregivers, working alongside your fellow RNs, physicians and other staff to enhance the patient experience and create the environment our patients have come to expect. You will assist with necessary nursing tasks, such as completing safety rounds, answering call lights and checking and documenting vitals. This position is also an excellent opportunity to grow your skills and explore different roles throughout the Cleveland Clinic institution. A caregiver in this position works varying shifts. You must work a minimum of 64 hours in the summer.

Requirements

• Nursing student in good standing in an accredited nursing school program OR an unlicensed graduate of an accredited nursing school program
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification through the American Heart Association (AHA) or the American Red Cross prior to hire
• Maintain competencies specific to patient population served
• Satisfactorily complete hospital orientation

Nice To Haves

• State Tested Nursing Assistant (STNA)
• Acute Care experience

Responsibilities

• Provide or assist with patient care under the supervision of an RN.
• Patient care may include vital signs, weight, assisting patients with personal care and activities of daily living, patient transfers/transport, pulse oximetry, point of care testing, dressing changes, applying external monitoring devices and removing urinary Foley catheter.
• Report abnormal findings or changes in physical, mental and emotional conditions to an RN.
• Assist with keeping patients’ rooms clean and orderly.
