About the unit A Float position gives you the opportunity to cross train to Med Surg, ICU, Emergency Departments, and OB. Float offers an opportunity to learn a broader skill set and enhance your skills by working in these departments. There also is a pay incentive for working Float. Scope of work Nurse Technicians act as a team member in the delivery of quality patient care under the supervision of a Registered Nurse (RN).
Requirements
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) Cert required within 90 days
Responsibilities
- Taking vitals
- Checking blood sugars
- Bed bathing
- Ambulating
- Wound care
- Catheterization
- Acting as a safety attendant for patients.
- Cleans patient’s environment / work area / equipment and communicates any equipment malfunctions to appropriate department / unit personnel.
- Demonstrates a high standard of moral and ethical behavior.
- Advocates for privacy, confidentiality and security of patient, staff and organization data.
