About The Position
The Emergency Unit at Corewell Health Zeeland Hospital features 18 beds and operates as a level 3 trauma center, catering to a diverse patient population including both adults and pediatric cases. The unit is recognized for its primary stroke certification and as a bariatric center of excellence. Since its establishment in 1921, Corewell Health Zeeland Hospital has been dedicated to providing advanced, patient-centered care to families within the Ottawa and Allegan county communities. The hospital offers a close-knit community atmosphere while benefiting from the robust support of a larger healthcare system. In this role, Nurse Technicians function as integral team members, delivering high-quality patient care under the direct supervision of a Registered Nurse (RN).
Requirements
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- Basic Life Support (BLS) Cert required within 90 days
Responsibilities
- Act as a team member in the delivery of quality patient care under the supervision of a Registered Nurse (RN)
- Take vitals
- Check blood sugars
- Perform bed bathing
- Assist with ambulating
- Perform wound care
- Perform catheterization
- Act as a safety attendant for patients
- Clean patient’s environment / work area / equipment
- Communicate any equipment malfunctions to appropriate department / unit personnel
- Demonstrate a high standard of moral and ethical behavior
- Advocate for privacy, confidentiality and security of patient, staff and organization data
