About The Position

Performs selected nursing functions under the direction of the Registered Nurse. A non-licensed healthcare provider employed by Erlanger who is responsible for direct and/or indirect care of the patient.

Requirements

• Will consider a nursing student (RN or LPN) within one year of graduating from an accredited nursing program.
• Knowledge of general nursing principles and practice skills.
• Medical background required.
• BLS completed prior to going to unit/department and maintained going forward.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care under the direction of a RN, including procedures, activities of daily living, and operating equipment necessary for patient care as assigned.
• Work in the role of Patient Care Technician as needed.
• Provide care appropriate to the age of the patients served on EEW2, which are medical including telemetry patients.
• Assess data reflective of the patient's status and interpret the appropriate information needed to identify each patient's requirements relative to his or her age-specific needs and to provide the care needed as described in the unit's policies and procedures.
