About The Position

The Nursing Supervisor is responsible for direct and indirect patient care and education. S/he supervises the nurses RN/LVN’s, nursing process and utilization. The Nursing Supervisor also assists clinic leadership with clinical quality assurance measures. Under the Direction of the Director of Nursing, Specific Tasks/Duties Include: Assists with meeting the needs of complex medical patients, including assessment, education, referrals, and follow-up care. This may involve face-to-face, phone meetings, and review of electronic messaging and media. Provide Nursing care including but limited to administering medications and treatments in compliance with a medical provider’s orders, Santa Rosa Community Health’s Policies, and State of California guidelines. Performs the interpretation of information obtained from client and others including the health care team, and documents all clinical care in the patient’s electronic medical record. Participates with the clinical leadership team to improve quality of care to the patients and infection control. Responsible for supervising the RN/LVN’s clinical performance and efficiency in compliance with SRCH policies and procedures. Coordinates activities by scheduling work assignments, setting priorities, and directing the work of Nurses. Assists the Director of Nursing to identify staff development and training needs. Orient and train new Nurses. Coordinate with clinic managers’ nurses’ schedules, adjust and reassign for sick call in and PTO. Assist clinical leadership in the evaluation and development of the nursing role within the care team. Work with Director of Nursing to coordinate, quality improvement, infection control practices and accreditation standards. Performs related duties as requested.

Requirements

  • Current California RN license.
  • Current CPR card.
  • 2 years of experience with direct patient care in an outpatient setting preferred.
  • Minimum of 1 year of experience in a lead nurse or coordinator position.
  • Good knowledge of the nursing process and critical thinking abilities.
  • Knowledge of electronic medical records and tracking systems.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, including communication through electronic means.
  • Demonstrated computer/keyboard proficiency and Experience with Microsoft Office applications. including Outlook, Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
  • Demonstrates knowledge of compliance issues within the community clinic environment.
  • Demonstrates a willingness to report any incident that is unusual or incompatible with accepted clinic procedures.
  • Complies with HIPAA policies.
  • Strong interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to be sensitive with persons of various social, cultural, economic and educational backgrounds.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong organizational skills with ability to prioritize projects, work relatively independently, manage multiple tasks, and meet deadlines.
  • Good judgment, problem solving and decision-making skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a medical team.

Nice To Haves

  • Fluency in English and Spanish (speak, read and write) preferred; may be required at certain sites
