Unit Manager (RN) Primary Responsibilities The RN is responsible for providing for the daily care, health needs, safety and comfort of the resident. This includes providing professional assessments and documentation of the resident’s heath and assisting with management of the assigned unit, charge nurse and other nursing staff. Responsibilities Unit Manager (RN) Essential Functions Unit Manager will supervise unit, perform and provide written/verbal care assignments, routine skills and procedures to ensure the quality of care to residents Supervise and participate in the development and implementation of resident care plans Document progress and making recommendations for revisions to care plans Assist DON/ADON with the co-ordination, management and monitoring of the review of nurse’s notes to determine if the care plan is being followed Supervise staff in monitor each resident’s psychological functions, fluid balance, elimination, electrolyte status, laboratory results, respiratory status, neurological status and nutritional status to detect deviations from normal and gage progress Make rounds with the physician Maintaining the confidentiality of all residents and their care to ensure residents rights and privacy are protected at all time Complete necessary documentation and teaching of residents for residents’ admissions, transfers and discharge according to policy and procedures All other as assigned Qualifications Unit Manager (RN) Qualifications Graduate of an accredited school of nursing and possess a valid LPN license in good standing according to State and Federal requirements Have a thorough understanding of the principles of safe effective nursing practices within the State of Indiana The ability to work harmoniously with professional and non-professional personal The ability to be discrete and protect the integrity of confidential information and stay within Corporate Compliance and HIPPA The ability to adhere to professional code of ethics
