The Julian F. Keith Alcohol & Drug Abuse Treatment Center (JFK ADATC) in Black Mountain has an excellent opportunity for a Nurse Supervisor. This role is part of a multi-disciplinary team that impacts lives. The primary purpose of the Nurse Supervisor is to provide professional nursing service to JFK ADATC patients. The Nursing Supervisor is an integral part of the Nursing Department and assumes responsibility for the nursing needs of the patients across an entire shift. This position is directly accountable to the Director of Nursing for all work performed. The Nursing Supervisor operates within the guidelines of the NC Nurse Practice Act, Code of Ethics for nurses, Medical and Nursing Policy and Procedures, and the regulations and standards set forth by the State, CMS, and JCAHO. The Nursing Supervisor administratively and clinically supervises nursing staff personnel and must work with management to oversee the daily functioning of the facility by assuring adequate staffing coverage and directing staff as they perform their duties. JFK is a 68-bed inpatient treatment facility designed to meet the needs of alcohol and other drug dependent adults of the 37 westernmost counties in North Carolina. The facility treats chemically dependent consumers and those who have substance abuse and psychiatric diagnosis. JFK is accredited by the Joint Commission on Accreditation of Healthcare Organizations as a Behavioral Health facility and certified by the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services as an inpatient psychiatric hospital.
