We are currently seeking an experienced Registered Nurse to join our team as a Weekend Nurse Supervisor . Maintains a current RN license with the Texas State Board of Nurse Examiners. Have a current card for the successful completion of Basic Cardiac Life Support (CPR – Healthcare Provider). Have Geriatric/Rehabilitation experience with a good understanding of restorative nursing. Job Expectations: Supervises direct nursing care in the Health Center. Functions in the capacity of DON in his/her absence. Administers direct nursing care, on the floor, when more than routine care is indicated. Makes routine rounds to assure proper care and a safe, clean resident environment. Assures accuracy and completeness of medical records. Supervises nursing personnel on all shifts. Participates in staffing, scheduling, counseling, orientation, and evaluation of nursing staff. Assures timeliness of physician visits and accompanies physicians when making rounds. Performs specific work duties and responsibilities as assigned by supervisor. Coordinates, conducts, and documents the MDS, resident care plans, and conference in the absence of the MDS Coordinator. Assists with orientation of nursing personnel. Participates in family/resident counseling Encourages rehabilitative techniques in order to restore residents’ independence. Assures proper functioning of medical equipment and adequate medical supplies. Assists DON in developing and implementing policies and procedures. On-call responsibilities one weekend per month in support of nurse manager coverage. Attends in-service training and education sessions, as assigned. Requirements
