We are currently seeking an experienced Registered Nurse to join our team as a Weekend Nurse Supervisor. Requirements

  • Graduate of an accredited school of professional nursing.
  • Maintains a current RN license with the Texas State Board of Nurse Examiners.
  • Have a current card for the successful completion of Basic Cardiac Life Support (CPR – Healthcare Provider).
  • Have Geriatric/Rehabilitation experience with a good understanding of restorative nursing.

Responsibilities

  • Supervises direct nursing care in the Health Center.
  • Functions in the capacity of DON in his/her absence.
  • Administers direct nursing care, on the floor, when more than routine care is indicated.
  • Makes routine rounds to assure proper care and a safe, clean resident environment.
  • Assures accuracy and completeness of medical records.
  • Supervises nursing personnel on all shifts. Participates in staffing, scheduling, counseling, orientation, and evaluation of nursing staff.
  • Assures timeliness of physician visits and accompanies physicians when making rounds.
  • Performs specific work duties and responsibilities as assigned by supervisor.
  • Coordinates, conducts, and documents the MDS, resident care plans, and conference in the absence of the MDS Coordinator.
  • Assists with orientation of nursing personnel.
  • Participates in family/resident counseling
  • Encourages rehabilitative techniques in order to restore residents’ independence.
  • Assures proper functioning of medical equipment and adequate medical supplies.
  • Assists DON in developing and implementing policies and procedures.
  • On-call responsibilities one weekend per month in support of nurse manager coverage.
  • Attends in-service training and education sessions, as assigned.
