About The Position

The purpose of this position is to provide 24-hour accountability for coordination of the safe provision of quality patient care on the inpatient unit for women, families and children. Responsibilities include but are not limited to: Operational functions include providing for safe 24-hour staffing, financial stewardship, respectful environment of care for staff and patients, based on person-centered principles. Quality and Safety. Will ensure that environment is non-punitive and engages staff, providers and patients to uncover and speak up about safety concerns. Intentional efforts of continual process improvement that enhances the safety and quality of patient care and the patient care environment. Supervisory functions include recruiting, interviewing, evaluating, team development, coaching, counseling, and terminating staff for an overall efficient running operation. Students are welcome in our care environment and will be treated as future colleagues and offered safe intentional learning opportunities. The Supervisor will develop and model healing relationships with neonatal, pediatric, adolescent, adult, and geriatric patients, families and visitors. They, along with the Inpatient Services Director will develop key working relationships with LRH clinical staff, support departments, referral agencies, volunteers, APPs and Physicians. The supervisor must have excellent problem-solving and critical thinking skills, must be able work cooperatively with teams, demonstrate public relation skills, and exercise good judgement. Effective communication skills are essential for this position. Hours/Shifts This is a full time, working supervisory role, with requirement to work eight shifts within a six week schedule. Compensation The pay range for this role is between $45.81-$66.18 annually. Please note that final compensation will be determined based on experience, qualifications and internal equity considerations. Requirements

  • Registered nurse with current licensure in Minnesota.
  • Evidence of progressive supervisory accountability or formal leadership and supervisory experience.
  • Willingness to continue development of leadership process improvement and business skills.
  • This position requires current Healthcare Provider level CPR certification upon hire or must be obtained within 6 months.
  • NRP certification
  • Electronic Fetal Monitoring certification
  • PALS
  • ACLS
  • AWHONN membership
  • Successful completion of the pre-employment health screening process required.
  • Must be able to attend the work site per schedule.

Nice To Haves

  • Baccalaureate degree in nursing, preferred or willing to obtain.
  • Two years of clinical experience in pediatrics and labor and delivery preferred.
