Requirements

Currently licensed in South Dakota as an RN.
Must hold a minimum of an associate’s degree, and one year experience in nursing.
Requires a valid driver’s license or the ability to obtain one with approved driver status.
Must be at least 21 years old and able to complete orientation training according to agency program standards.
Must successfully complete all agency background checks, which include checks for criminal convictions, behavior harmful towards children, spousal abuse, and drug or sex crimes.

Nice To Haves

Knowledge of Medicaid, IHS, and insurance management system preferred, but not required.

Responsibilities

Administer and provide on-going training, oversight, and monitoring of medications certified staff.
Responsible for security of medications.
Provide support to physician, psychiatrist, or psychologist in managing the ongoing needs of residents.
Maintain comfort and safety needs of residents.
Take temperature, pulse, blood pressure, and other vital signs to detect deviations from normal and assess condition of residents.
Coordinate medication inventories with pharmacy on a scheduled basis.
May occasionally transport residents to medical appointments.
Schedule all medical, dental, eye appointments and follow-ups as needed.
Document medical history, diagnoses, medications, physical assessments and results of all medical appointments for assigned residents.
