About The Position

Start your nursing career at Hillsdale Hospital in south central Michigan. Relocation assistance may be available if you live more than 75 miles from Hillsdale Hospital You could be eligible for a payment of $5,250 on your student loan once you're full time and have your RN Work Schedule and Shift Premiums Nurse residents might have opportunities on day shift, but should be open to night shift to start their nursing career Full Time nurses mostly work 3 days / 36 hours/week including every other or every third weekend depending on the unit Casual | per diem | PRN nurse residents work as needed while completing their degree then become full time upon graduation 2nd shift premium is $2.00/hour 3rd shift premium is $3.05/hour Weekend premium is an additional $2.00/hour S.B. 690 skilled nursing facility premium is $3.40/hour for certified and licensed CENAs, LPNs and RNs Nurse residents must agree to stay with Hillsdale Hospital for at least 1 year after obtaining their license. Requirements

  • Must be in your final semester of nursing school (ADN or BSN) preparing for your RN license
  • BLS, ACLS, and PALS required, plus TEAM certification required within one year (all are available through Hillsdale Hospital)

Responsibilities

  • Under the direct supervisor on an RN, learn to provide expert, effective treatment and care for healing and improved health while assisting with monitoring of patients’ conditions and maintaining accurate, detailed and confidential reports and records
  • With your preceptor, will consult with and advise patients and their families on health maintenance and disease prevention
  • Will create a comfortable environment for patients and families using a non-judgmental, compassionate attitude and open communication
  • Will learn to work cohesively with the healthcare team to assess, administer and evaluate individual patient care plans
