About The Position

The School Nurse is a professional Registered Nurse who serves as the leader in the school community to oversee the school health policies and programs. Enhances the educational process by modifying or removing health-related barriers to learning and by advocating and promoting an optimal level of wellness for all students. Establishes and maintains a comprehensive school health program in association with Licensed Practical Nurse and Health Assistant.

Requirements

• Associates Degree in Nursing with management experience
• Current R.N. license issued by the Arizona State Board of Nursing
• BLS certification
• FBI fingerprint background check
• Proof of immunity to rubeola (measles) and rubella (German measles), or proof of MMR immunization
• Must release Social Security Number to be eligible for AHCCCS Provider ID Number
• BLS Certification must be submitted at time of hire. Certification must be maintained current during course of employment
• Must hold a valid Driver's license (Arizona Driver's License required within 30 days of hire) and personal vehicle insurance coverage greater than or equal to the state-required minimum for car insurance as described under Governing Board Policy: EEB-R-1 Business and Personnel Transportation Services - Transportation by Employees.

Nice To Haves

• Bachelor's degree in Nursing
• Current clinical nursing practice or experience in the area of school nursing, pediatrics, family medicine, maternal/child or equivalent
