About The Position

Responsible for the daily management and operations of assigned classroom in the absence of the regular classroom teacher. Reviews with principal, or designee, all plans, duties, and schedules to be followed during the teaching day. Teaches the outlined lesson as provided by the classroom teacher. Maintains as possible the established routines and procedures of the school and classroom. Follows all policies, rules, and procedures to which classroom teachers are subject and which good teaching practice dictates. Communicates with the classroom teacher following the assignment. Performs other duties as assigned.

Requirements

• Education: High School Diploma or GED.
• Experience: None.
• Physical Requirements: Constant hand-eye/mind-eye coordination. Frequent walking, speaking, writing, bending, carrying, pushing, pulling, sitting, and turning. Some lifting up to 30 lbs.
• Other Requirements: Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Computer proficiency in word processing, spreadsheets, data entry, email, and internet. Ability to keep student information confidential.

Nice To Haves

• Bachelor’s Degree in Education preferred for long term assignments.
• One year in similar position preferred.
