About The Position

The Nurse Recruiter serves as an ambassador for the nursing profession and for UAMS. This role focuses on promoting the value and impact of UAMS nursing through community engagement, social media, digital and print campaigns, and recognition and retention programs, promoting a positive image of nursing. The Nurse Recruiter actively travels to nursing schools, career fairs, and community events to inspire the next generation of nurses and elevate UAMS’s reputation as an employer of choice. The Nurse Recruiter also builds and maintains relationships with nursing programs, faculty, and student organizations to increase awareness of opportunities within UAMS. The Nurse Recruiter evaluates opportunities to create and streamline a pipeline of nurses to the organization. This position does not manage the hiring process but instead supports the visibility, recognition, and pride of nursing within and beyond UAMS.

Requirements

  • Bachelors in Nursing (BSN)
  • Valid RN License
  • Three (3) years of experience as a Registered Nurse
  • One (1) year experience with demonstrated success in recruiting, program development or retention

Nice To Haves

  • Master’s in Nursing
  • Four (4) or more years of experience in nurse recruitment, talent acquisition, nursing leadership, nursing workforce planning or pipeline development, employee engagement and retention initiatives
  • Program management and event planning experience working with Magnet Recognition Program standards, shared governance structures, nurse residency or mentorship programs

Responsibilities

  • Represent UAMS at nursing schools, conferences, and community events to promote nursing careers and the organization’s mission.
  • Build and maintain relationships with nursing programs, faculty, and student organizations to increase awareness of opportunities within the organization.
  • Track and report engagement outcomes from outreach events and digital campaigns.
  • Recommend ideas, concepts and best practice methods to enhance effective, cost-efficient, and quality programs (e.g., New Grad RN Transition to practice and Clinical Care Assistant programs with Clinical Education, Job Shadow Program with Center for Nursing Excellence, Employment Information, etc.)
  • Respond to applicant inquires r/t walk-ins, online and chat customers via Nurse Recruitment website, email, and social media platforms.
  • Work with Center for Nursing Excellence to maintain current information on recruitment website.
  • Partner with Marketing & Communications to create compelling stories, videos, and spotlights that feature nurses’ achievements and professional journeys.
  • Coordinate and manage internal and external nurse recognition programs and awards (e.g., Outstanding Area of the Month, DAISY/BEE Awards, DAISY Nurse Leader, local, state, and national honors, i.e., Nursing Expo, Great 100 Nurses in Arkansas, Ar Times ‘Nursing Insert,’ 40 Under 40 Nurse Leaders, etc.).
  • Provide tools and resources for leadership to establish unit/clinic/area specific recognition programs to retain staff.
  • Perform other job duties as needed
