About The Position

Position Overview: The Primary Care Provider delivers comprehensive, patient-centered care within a community-oriented primary care setting. This role focuses on the prevention, diagnosis, and treatment of acute and chronic conditions while promoting overall health and wellness. The provider collaborates with an interdisciplinary care team to improve patient outcomes, ensure continuity of care, and support organizational quality initiatives. This position may also provide clinical supervision, technical assistance, and guidance to health professional students and other medical providers. What You Will Do: Provide comprehensive primary care services, including physical examinations, diagnosis and treatment of illnesses, ordering and interpretation of diagnostic tests, prescribing medications, and preventive health counseling. Practice in accordance with evidence-based clinical guidelines and within scope of licensure. Deliver patient care including history, examination, diagnosis, treatment planning, patient education, and referrals as appropriate. Perform minor procedures and administer local anesthesia as appropriate to scope of practice. Maintain accurate, timely, and complete documentation in the electronic health record (EHR) to support continuity of care, compliance, and billing. Refer patients for specialty consultation and coordinate follow-up care as needed. Collaborate with providers, nursing staff, and other care team members to ensure coordinated, high-quality patient care. Maintain productivity standards in alignment with organizational goals and reporting requirements. Participate in recruitment, retention, and evaluation of medical staff in collaboration with leadership. Maintain professional and technical knowledge through continuing education and ensure all licensure and certifications remain current. Demonstrate excellent customer service by fostering respectful, patient-centered interactions and maintaining confidentiality. Consult with supervising providers or colleagues on complex cases, including patients requiring higher levels of care or critical intervention. Participate in clinic meetings, provider meetings, and other organizational activities. Uphold organizational values, professionalism, and a commitment to quality care. Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Completion of an accredited program as a Nurse Practitioner (NP), Clinical Nurse Specialist (CNS), Certified Nurse Midwife (CNM), Physician Assistant (PA), or Women's Health Specialist.
  • Current, unrestricted licensure in the State of New Mexico in the applicable discipline.
  • National certification in the applicable specialty (AANP, NCC, AMCB, NCCPA, or equivalent).
  • Physician supervision maintained as required for applicable roles.
  • Current DEA registration and New Mexico Controlled Substance Registration.
  • Minimum of one (1) year of clinical experience preferred.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) or Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) certification required.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in community health, primary care, or FQHC setting.
  • Bilingual in English and Spanish.
