About The Position

Coordinates and provides care for a group of patients spanning all age groups and cultures for a designated time frame using therapeutic means, the laboratory process, the environment/instrumentation and other health care team members while assuming responsibility and accountability for these patients; responsibilities are to provide patient care in an ambulatory care setting under the clinical supervision of a physician or MD within the guidelines of nursing process and nurse practitioner protocols as outlined in Patient Care Guidelines for Nurse Practitioners. Requirements

  • Graduate of an accredited school, master prepared with a degree as a Nurse Practitioner
  • Massachusetts licensure.
  • Departmental specialized training to provide care to patients within role and successful completion of SMH orientation program
  • Command of verbal and written English
  • Operation of clinical equipment demonstrates clinical competence
  • Positive interpersonal communication skills and good organizational skills
  • Ability to effectively communicate to all age levels served within the scope of the position/assigned areas.
  • Must have the ability to perform the essential functions of the position without posing a direct threat to the health and safety of themselves or other individuals in the workplace, with or without a reasonable accommodation.
  • Master in Science in Nursing/Nurse Practitioner
  • CPR certification.
  • MA NP license
  • DEA & Mass Controlled Substance Registration

Nice To Haves

  • Three to five years medical office experience
