About The Position

Dr. Kevin Kruse is seeking a full-time Nurse Practitioner to join our shoulder surgery practice and provide high-quality, patient-centered musculoskeletal care. This position offers a consistent weekday schedule and a supportive team environment focused on excellent outcomes and patient experience. Schedule: Monday–Thursday, Reduced Schedule Fridays

Requirements

  • Current Texas Nurse Practitioner license (required)
  • 1–2 years of clinical experience preferred
  • Orthopedic experience preferred, but not required
  • Strong communication, organization, and documentation skills
  • High School Diploma, or general education degree (GED), and minimum one (1) year experience in an outpatient clinic setting.
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions and procedure manuals.
  • Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
  • Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization.
  • Ability to add, subtract, multiple and divide on all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions and decimals.
  • Ability to compute rate, ratio and percent and to draw and interpret insurance co-pays and deductibles.
  • Ability to apply commons sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral or diagram form.
  • Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
  • Ability to type 45 WPM, basic proficiency in Microsoft Outlook/Office, and experience using or ability to learn and comprehend computer programs.
  • Advanced Practice Registered Nurse (APRN)

  • Orthopedic experience preferred, but not required

Responsibilities

  • Perform orthopedic patient evaluations, histories, and physical exams
  • Develop and document treatment plans in collaboration with Dr. Kruse
  • Order and interpret diagnostic testing (X-rays, MRIs, labs, etc.)
  • Provide follow-up care and patient education
  • Assist with pre-operative and post-operative management
  • Prescribe medications and coordinate patient care as appropriate
  • Maintain accurate and timely documentation in the EMR
  • Work closely with physician and clinical staff to ensure efficient clinical flow
  • Participates in continuing education and other learning experiences
