About The Position

Whittier Rehabilitation Hospital - Bradford/Haverhill Nurse Practitioner - Out Patient Neuro Part time, 24 hours/week, days $54-$60/hr Primary Dutie s : Evaluates, diagnose, and manage adult rehabilitation patients with physical or functional impairments. Provide medication management, including non-opioid pain protocols Coordinate care transitions between inpatient, outpatient, and community programs. Order and interpret diagnostic tests, labs, and imaging relevant to rehabilitation Provide patient and family education regarding treatment plans, therapy adherence, and wellness. Participates in interdisciplinary care team meetings. Document progress notes, medical necessity, and plan of care updates. Collaborate with physicians in the management of complex rehabilitation cases.11) Refer patients to specialty practices for consultation. Communicate with patients’ other medical providers concerning patient’s neuro rehabilitative and medical conditions. Assist with medical and neurology rehabilitative care of patients’ participating in the Outpatient Neurology Rehabilitation program and upon request of supervising physician providers’ consultation in the inpatient units of Whittier Rehabilitation Hospital. Performs other duties within guidelines and instructions of physician

Requirements

  • Current RN Massachusetts Licensure.
  • The NP is a registered professional nurse licensed by the Massachusetts Board of Registration in Nursing and recognized by said Board as a Certified Practice Nurse (CNP).
  • The Massachusetts Board of Registration in Nursing requires that NP be certified by a national certifying body (ANCC or AANP) in order to be licensed to perform as a Nurse Practitioner.
  • Such certification must be maintained actively and may not be allowed to lapse.
  • 3-5 years’ experience in rehabilitation, medical surgical or other hospital nursing care.
  • Current BLS certification required.

Nice To Haves

  • Previous supervisory/teaching experience preferred.
  • Certification Rehabilitation Nursing and ACLS certification highly desirable.
