About The Position

Nure Practitioner for Oculoplastic Services Location: Inland Empire, Coachella, San Diego Job Summary: This is an excellent opportunity for advanced practice nursing students or recent NP graduates to gain hands-on experience in the specialized field of ophthalmology. The NP will work closely with experienced ophthalmologists to deliver high-quality care to patients with a variety of eye conditions. Essential Functions: Assist in performing comprehensive eye examinations, including visual acuity tests, pupil evaluations, and slit-lamp assessments. Conduct patient history intakes and document findings in electronic medical records. Support in diagnosing and managing common ophthalmic conditions such as glaucoma, cataracts, macular degeneration, and diabetic retinopathy. Participate in pre- and post-operative care for surgical patients. Provide education to patients and families about eye health, preventive care, and prescribed treatments. Address patient questions and concerns under the supervision of the clinical team. Work closely with the interdisciplinary team to develop and implement individualized treatment plans. Assist in coordinating patient referrals to subspecialties and ancillary services. Maintain accurate and timely documentation of patient encounters. Participate in quality improvement initiatives within the department. Attend training sessions, workshops, and rounds with the ophthalmology team. Stay current on the latest evidence-based practices in ophthalmology and advanced nursing care. QualificationsQualifications Currently enrolled in or recently graduated from an accredited Nurse Practitioner program. Licensed or eligible for licensure as a Registered Nurse (RN) and Nurse Practitioner (NP) in California. Basic knowledge of ophthalmology or interest in pursuing a career in the field. Strong interpersonal and communication skills with a patient-centered approach. Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced clinical setting. Preferred Skills: Experience or clinical rotations in ophthalmology or related specialties. Familiarity with electronic medical record systems (e.g., Epic). Current license with the Board
