About The Position

Come join our dynamic, highly skilled Occupational Health Services team! Under the supervision of the UCSF Department of Occupational Health Services and guided by the policies and procedures, rules and regulations, and bylaws of the UCSF Medical Center, some Nursing Policies, and, Medical Staff Policies, and any unique ambulatory patient services this Nurse Practitioner (NP) position is assigned to in Occupational Health Services. This AHP position works in a dynamic clinic that is responsible for the health and welfare of the UCSF workforce. The AHP may perform delegated functions as appropriate to their “scope of practice”. In general, the “scope of practice” includes the management of chronic stable medical conditions, routine care, acute or critical care, and medical and surgical procedures per approved standardized procedures (SPs) as identified by the list available on the Office of Medical Affairs and Governance (OMAG) website. The CIDP approved standardized procedures are unique to each person and are unlikely to include ALL SPs on the list. This position may provide patient care in approved age groups and UCSF Health licensed settings. The AHP has responsibility for the quality of standards of care for a specified patient population and evidences self-direction and accountability in the development of this role within the all-UCSF medical center locations. UCSF Health requires all Advanced Health Practitioners (AHP) to be credentialed through its OMAG to practice and function in their clinical role. This applies to both adult and pediatric AHPs in the inpatient and outpatient clinical settings at all UCSF Health sites (Parnassus, Mt. Zion, Mission Bay, and Satellite Clinics, et al). Credentialing and approval of the Standardized Procedures takes between 30-60 days and must be completed prior to the first working day. The final salary and offer components are subject to additional approvals based on UC policy. Your placement within the salary range is dependent on a number of factors including your work experience and internal equity within this position classification at UCSF. For positions that are represented by a labor union, placement within the salary range will be guided by the rules in the collective bargaining agreement. The salary range for this position is $105.50 - $136.83 (Hourly Rate). Requirements

  • Graduation from a California Board of Registered Nursing recognized Nurse Practitioner Program with a master’s or doctoral degree aligned with the patient population and clinical role.
  • At least six (6) months of NP experience in Occupational Health.
  • Masters degree in Occupational Health or Nursing.
  • At least 6 months of Occupational NP experience.
  • California driver’s license (CDL) if required for position.
  • Current national certification from an accepted certifying agency and provide by first day of work.
  • Accepted Certifications for this position, Adult Outpatient (A-GNP-C, ANP-C, FNP-C, GNP-C, AGPCNP-BC, ANP-BC, FNP-BC, GNP-BC, ACNP-BC, AGACNP-BC, ACNPC-AG, ACNPC)
  • Current and active RN and NP and Furnishing license in California.
  • Complete a BRN recognized graduate master’s degree program as a nurse practitioner.
  • Complete Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) Registration with Schedules 2, 2N, 3, 3N, 4, and 5 registered to a California address.
  • Submit enrollment with CMS Medicare and Medicaid through credentialing by first clinical day.
  • CCS enrollment as appropriate for pediatric environments.
  • Current AHA BLS.
  • Current AHA ACLS.
  • State regulation requires that you have a supervising physician to practice.

Nice To Haves

  • Additional Urgent Care, Emergency, or Orthopedics experience preferred.
  • Masters in Occupational Health or Nursing.
  • COHN or COHN-S certification preferred.
  • Able to do evaluations for a new injury.
