Requirements

Master’s degree in Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner from an accredited program
Active SC license (or ability to obtain prior to start)
Active DEA license with no restrictions
Ability to obtain ACLS & BLS certification within 90 days of employment

Nice To Haves

Experience with EMR systems
Strong knowledge of urgent care protocols and procedures
Familiarity with OSHA and HIPAA regulations
Commitment to quality, safety, and infection control standards

Responsibilities

Provide direct patient care for a wide range of urgent medical conditions (sore throat, respiratory illness, rashes and skin infections, sprains and strains, fracture care, cuts, burns and others).
Perform minor procedures and interpret diagnostic tests (e.g., X-rays, EKGs, labs, CT scans, ultrasound, MRI, echocardiogram, PFT, urodynamic tests, and more).
Develops and implements patient management plans, records progress notes, and assists in provision of continuity of care.
Communicates with patients regarding testing results, follow-up care, and additional information.
Prescribes pharmaceuticals, other medications, and treatment regimens as appropriate to assessed medical conditions.
Refers patients to specialists and to relevant patient care components as appropriate.
Collaborate with clinical staff to ensure seamless patient care.
Document patient encounters accurately and timely in the electronic medical record.
Follows established policies, procedures, objectives, and recommended referral practices.
Participates in facility in-services, required training, recruiting, required staff meetings, and other clinic operations procedures.
Participate in quality improvement initiatives and uphold clinical best practices.
