Requirements

  • Master’s degree in Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner from an accredited program
  • Active SC license (or ability to obtain prior to start)
  • Active DEA license with no restrictions
  • Ability to obtain ACLS & BLS certification within 90 days of employment

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with EMR systems
  • Strong knowledge of urgent care protocols and procedures
  • Familiarity with OSHA and HIPAA regulations
  • Commitment to quality, safety, and infection control standards

Responsibilities

  • Provide direct patient care for a wide range of urgent medical conditions (sore throat, respiratory illness, rashes and skin infections, sprains and strains, fracture care, cuts, burns and others).
  • Perform minor procedures and interpret diagnostic tests (e.g., X-rays, EKGs, labs, CT scans, ultrasound, MRI, echocardiogram, PFT, urodynamic tests, and more).
  • Develops and implements patient management plans, records progress notes, and assists in provision of continuity of care.
  • Communicates with patients regarding testing results, follow-up care, and additional information.
  • Prescribes pharmaceuticals, other medications, and treatment regimens as appropriate to assessed medical conditions.
  • Refers patients to specialists and to relevant patient care components as appropriate.
  • Collaborate with clinical staff to ensure seamless patient care.
  • Document patient encounters accurately and timely in the electronic medical record.
  • Follows established policies, procedures, objectives, and recommended referral practices.
  • Participates in facility in-services, required training, recruiting, required staff meetings, and other clinic operations procedures.
  • Participate in quality improvement initiatives and uphold clinical best practices.
