About The Position

The Nurse Practitioner is responsible for the provision of clinical care to program clients seeking mental health services. Incumbents must demonstrate cultural sensitivity and understanding of how culture influences and impacts behavioral health services while incorporating this understanding into trauma-informed care. Mid-Columbia Center for Living (MCCFL) is a Certified Community Behavioral Health Clinic (CCBHC) that specializes in providing services that are both trauma-informed and recovery-oriented to persons / consumers with mental illness and addictions. Trauma-informed care includes safety, choice, collaboration, trustworthiness, cultural responsivity, and empowerment for both clients and staff. MCCFL serves Hood River, Wasco, and Sherman Counties and utilizes a consumer-involved, consumer-engaged, and consumer-driven model. MCCFL provides a whole-person care approach to adults and children to address both physical and mental health needs. MCCFL offers a variety of programs including a mobile crisis unit, intensive case management, ongoing counseling, community support, supported employment, jail diversion, hospital discharges, hearings, and more.

Requirements

  • Any combination of education, licensure, and experience that demonstrates the ability to perform the position’s essential responsibilities. This includes:
  • Professional licensure in the State of Oregon as an Advanced Practice Registered Nurse (Nurse Practitioner) with a specialty in Psychiatric and Mental Health.
  • Current certification in First Aid and Basic Life Support.
  • Must pass all criminal history check requirements as required by ORS 181.536-181.537 and in accordance with OAR 407-007-0200 to 407-007-0370.
  • Must possess a valid Oregon or Washington Driver’s license, maintain an acceptable driving record, and be insurable for client service purposes and for travel between business offices, meetings and/or trainings. A reliable alternate mode of transportation may be acceptable.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience as a Nurse Practitioner is preferred.
  • Experience in a psychiatric or community behavioral health setting is preferred.
  • Bilingual fluency in Spanish/English is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Integrates primary health care with mental health treatment of clients accessing services in the clinical setting, community services within the Medical / Integrated Care Team and Community Support Services programs.
  • Provide clinical services that are in accordance with nurse practitioner licensure for the State of Oregon to include: assessment and management of medications for Attention-Deficit Disorder/Attention-Deficit/Hyperactivity Disorder and Medication Assisted Treatment clients; behavioral health diagnosis; and Psychiatric Medication Management of stable patients.
  • Performs the duties of the Enhanced Care Services/Enhanced Care Outreach Services Nurse as needed.
  • Provide services to 11-14 patients per day.
  • Coordinates medical and social needs of clients to enhance treatment, to monitor chronic disease registries to improve care delivery and health outcomes and assist with case management and health education.
  • Reviews and evaluates assessments, treatment plans, diagnosis reviews, progress notes & medication delivery in accordance with State standards; recommends resource allocation.
  • May administer intelligence, psychological and other behavioral tests within professional qualifications and may be asked to interpret results of clinical evaluations for community agencies and/or apply results to individual guidance.
  • Provide medical case management and referral services in collaboration with Community Partners.
  • Regular and reliable attendance; professional communication; maintain confidentiality.
  • Newly Licensed Medical Providers may have a three (03) month adaptive schedule, planned in consultation with the Medical Director.
