About The Position

Nurse Practitioners are Registered Nurses who serve as primary and specialty health care providers under a physician. Much like a family doctor, Family Nurse Practitioners work with patients throughout their lives, diagnosing illness, conducting exams, and prescribing medication. These nurses can also serve as their patients’ sole health care provider and run their own private practices. Principal Duties and Responsibilities- Core Competency is the demonstrated ability to carry out the primary responsibilities of the job which is reflected in the Principal Duties section of the job description. Understanding, supporting, and promoting the organization values inherent in the philosophy of Mena Regional Health System. Help patients manage acute and chronic illnesses. Conduct physical exams and perform diagnostic tests and procedures. - Nurse practitioners in the family practice specialty diagnose and treat patients from childhood to adulthood Engaging patients in their care, helping them to understand their illness and practical measures they can take for improvements, - Diagnosing and treating health problems Managing minor trauma including suturing and splinting Performing prenatal, well-child, and adult care checkups Prescribing medications Teaching health promotion and disease prevention to patients. Family nurse practitioners approach patients with an understanding of the value of collaborative, family-centered care and consultative relationships with other healthcare providers, such as physicians, pharmacists, and psychologists. Effective collaboration has proven to promote better communication, healthcare management, and positive health outcomes. Performing job duties in a manner which demonstrates the values of Mena Regional Health System and its commitment to customer service. Complying with Human Resources policies and procedures. Participates in various meetings with such groups to provide pertinent information related to the department operations. Set and monitor achievement of goals and objectives for the Clinic operations consistent with MRHS policy and procedure. Maintains strict confidentiality and privacy with regard to administrative/confidential activities, patient information, staff issues, and organizational issues. Other duties as assigned. Always ensures that Medicare and Medicaid procedures and regulations are not compromised.

Requirements

  • Master of Science in Nursing, and get Board certification in family practice through the American Nurses Credentialing Center of the American Academy of Nurse Practitioners.
  • Must be licensed to work in the State of Arkansas
  • CFNP- Certified Family Nurse Practitioner.
  • Reaching and grasping with arms and hands
  • Proofreading and checking documents for accuracy
  • Using a keyboard to enter or transform words or data
  • Hearing in normal and soft tones
  • Ability to read and understand written English words and sentences
  • Ability to communicate orally and in writing in English words and sentences
  • Ability to understand spoken English words and sentences
  • Ability to communicate with others by telephone and e-mail
  • Understanding, supporting and promoting the organizational values inherent in the philosophy of Mena Regional Health Systems.

  • Ability to use good judgment with good computer skills
