Work Shift Various (United States of America) Wellstar Medical Group is seeking an experienced PRN Acute Care Nurse Practitioner/Physician Assistant for our Emergency Medicine Department, based in Augusta, GA and will work with our critical care team at Wellstar Hospital only. The available shift schedule will vary Sun-Mon including holidays. Shift hours will vary between 7a-4p, 8a-5p and 4p-1a daily. There is a minimum one shift commitment over a nine-week period. The Emergency Department APP provides direct patient care in the emergency room including initial patient assessment, diagnosis, treatment planning and stabilization of acutely ill or injured patients, while collaborating with the healthcare team to ensure timely and appropriate care delivery. The Emergency Department APP will interpret diagnostic tests, formulate differential diagnoses, and initiate appropriate treatment plans for a wide range of medical emergencies like trauma, cardiac events and respiratory distress. The Emergency Department APP will perform minor surgical procedures like laceration repair, wound care, and administer medications including IVs, pain management, and emergency medications. The Emergency Department APP will effectively communicate with attending physicians, nurses, ancillary staff, and other healthcare providers to ensure coordinated patient care. The Emergency Department APP will provide clear instructions to patients regarding follow-up care and discharge planning, addressing any concerns or questions.
