About The Position

The Pediatric Acute Care Cardiology, Inpatient provider, will be working collaboratively with a multidisciplinary team within the UT Southwestern Pediatric Cardiology division at Children’s Health in Dallas to provide comprehensive care to pediatric patients on our inpatient cardiology unit. These patients present with a wide variety of congenital and acquired heart disease. This position will require a high degree of critical thinking and clinical expertise in working with pediatric patients in the inpatient acute care cardiology setting. The Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant is responsible for the assessment, diagnosis, treatment, management, education, consultation, and health promotion and care coordination for patients and their families. Scheduled Hours (24/7): variable 12°shifts including nights and weekends

Requirements

  • Master’s degree in nursing or Higher degree and Documentation of completion of accredited Advanced Practice Education Program and Graduate education and related Texas Board of Nursing authorization must be consistent with clinical practice area and patient population.
  • Master’s degree graduate of a Master’s or higher Accreditation Review Commission on Education for the Physician Assistant (ARC-PA) accredited Physician Assistant program.
  • Advanced Practice RN (CPNP-AC) by Texas State Board of Nursing upon hire and authorization for prescriptive authority by the Texas Board of Nursing upon hire.
  • National Commission of Certification of Physician Assistants (NCCPA) and certified licensed by the Texas Physician Assistant Board (PA-C) upon hire.
  • Current Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS), Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certified by the American Heart Association or Red Cross based on the UT Southwestern policy for Advanced Practice Providers upon hire.
