The Connecticut Orthopedic Institute’s Physician Assistant team is a growing department that covers inpatient joint reconstruction, spine, podiatry and acute fracture care. The Connecticut Orthopedic Institute at St. Vincent’s Medical Center is staffed by some of the top orthopedic specialists in the region through a partnership with Connecticut Orthopedics, Orthopedic Specialty Group, Ortho Connecticut Coastal Orthopedic, and Valley Orthopedic Specialists. The surgeons, and their patients, also have access to the best-available, robotics-assisted technology including the Mako Robotic-Arm Assisted Surgery for knees and hips, Globus Robotic Spine Surgery for the spine – that makes a procedure less invasive and more precise. Requirements

  • Board certified (NCCPA).
  • Current or eligible CT PA license.
  • Minimal two years of PA orthopedic surgery experience required.

Responsibilities

  • First and/or Second Assist in the Operating Room.
  • Provides pre-operative and post-operative care to patients.
  • Documents patient encounters, including but not limited to: admissions, brief operative, progress, event, procedure and discharge notes.
  • Enters, reviews and updates orders.
  • Collaborates as part of a multidisciplinary team to facilitate safe and appropriate patient disposition.
