About The Position

Sutter Medical Group (SMG) is seeking a Pediatric Intensivist Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant to join our collaborative and close‑knit Pediatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU) team in Sacramento, CA. About the PICU 20 total beds , divided into: 10 Pediatric CVICU beds 10 PICU beds Average daily census: 16–17 patients Acuity includes a diverse mix of medical and cardiac critical care patients Strong multidisciplinary collaboration with physicians, nursing, respiratory therapy, and ancillary teams

Requirements

• Current licensure as a Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant
• Acute-care pediatric credentials required
• 2-year of pediatric critical care experience
• Ability to work effectively in a fast‑paced, high‑acuity environment
• Strong communication and collaboration skills

Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive care to critically ill pediatric patients in the PICU and CVICU
• Perform assessments, develop and implement treatment plans, and manage complex medical conditions
• Collaborate closely with intensivists, cardiology, cardiothoracic surgery, and other subspecialty teams
• Participate in procedures, bedside rounds, and care coordination with families
• Contribute positively to a supportive, team‑oriented department culture
