About The Position

The Infectious Diseases Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant will join a collaborative, multidisciplinary team providing comprehensive care for patients with complex infectious diseases across inpatient and outpatient settings. This role includes evaluation and management of general and specialty infectious conditions, participation in consultative services, and close collaboration with infectious disease physicians, nursing, and other subspecialties, primarily organ transplant. The APP will practice at the top of their license with opportunities for professional growth, participation in quality improvement initiatives, and engagement in educational activities. Prior infectious diseases experience is preferred, though motivated candidates with a strong interest in ID and a commitment to evidence‑based, team‑based care are encouraged to apply. This role can include: -Obtaining patient history -Performing physical examinations -Ordering and performing diagnostic and therapeutic procedures -Formulating a diagnostic impression -Developing and implementing a treatment plan -Monitoring effectiveness of antibiotic treatments -Offering counseling and pre-transplant education -Making appropriate referrals -Prescribing and dispensing prescription medication -Rounding inpatient on hospital services

Requirements

  • New Graduates will not be considered at this time.
  • Minimum of 1 year NP/PA experience required.
  • Nurse Practitioner: Masters-prepared graduate of an accredited school of nursing and Nurse Practitioner program.
  • Current FL RN and APRN license and certification as a FNP, ANP or ACNP.
  • Physician Assistant: Graduate of accredited Physician Assistant program with current PA certification by NCCPA and registration as a PA by the FL State Board of Medical Practice.
  • Active BLS and ACLS certification from American Heart Association or American Red Cross at start date and DEA registration required
  • Strong clinical reasoning and pattern recognition
  • Adaptability across settings
  • Interprofessional communication and team-based practice
  • Efficacy with highly complex data/labs/medication dosages

Nice To Haves
