The Cardiology Department at Mayo Clinic Health Systems - La Crosse is a growing and progressive practice. The role of the electrophysiology nurse practitioner/physician assistant includes providing comprehensive direct and indirect patient care including consultations, periprocedural evaluation and follow-up, and routine office visits. Inpatient care may also include inpatient consultations and procedural discharges. The position requires the ability to communicate with physicians regarding changes in patient's clinical condition; results of diagnostic studies; and patient symptomatology as appropriate. In response to changes in patient condition; accurately and effectively modifies therapeutic interventions. Our team-based care model requires strong communication skills and willingness to collaborate and work together as part of a team.

Requirements

  • Nurse Practitioner: Masters-prepared graduate of an accredited school of nursing and Nurse Practitioner program. Current WI RN and APRN license and certification as an FNP, ANP, or ACNP.
  • Physician Assistant: Graduate of accredited Physician Assistant program with current PA certification by NCCPA and registration as a PA by the WI State Board of Medical Practice.
  • Prescriptive Authority in the State of Wisconsin (WI Board of Medical Examiners and DEA).
  • Current BLS and ACLS certification.
  • Eligible for hospital and clinic privileges.
