About The Position

Fairview is seeking a General Surgery Nurse Practitioner to join the General Surgery team in the East region. In this role, you will work independently in a supportive team setting at both M Health Fairview St. John's in Maplewood and M Health Fairview Woodwinds in Woodbury, MN, and associated locations. You will be working closely with a well-established community General Surgery group and an experienced group of Advanced Practice Providers (APP), caring for patients with a diverse range of general, breast, surgical oncology, reflux, abdominal wall reconstruction, colon surgery and bariatric disorders. Practice Details: Surgical patient care for a wide variety of conditions such as breast, oncologic, colon, foregut, complex hernia, endocrine, and bariatric in addition to general surgery Outpatient care for post-operative patients, and non-operative patient procedural needs Inpatient care including: Admissions and consults, daily rounding, operative assist, and discharge planning and education Leadership within the multi-professional team caring for your patients and within the provider group 1.0 FTE Monday - Friday with rotating weekends; hours dependent on patient care needs Flexible schedule Income Details: Market competitive salary with additional earning potential with years of experience Comprehensive benefits package: generous time off, annual CME allowance, malpractice insurance with tail coverage, retirement contributions, relocation & more

Requirements

  • Graduate of a school of nursing and accredited Adult/Gero or Acute Care Nurse Practitioner training program
  • BC/BE through the AANP or ANCC
  • Licensed or ability to obtain APRN license with the Minnesota Board of Nursing
  • Ability to obtain and /or maintain DEA certification for the State of Minnesota
  • Meet threshold criteria/qualifications for Credentialing and Privileges
  • Ability to obtain ATLS within 6 months of hire

Nice To Haves

  • 3 years experience in a Surgical practice as an NP is preferred
