About The Position

A unique opportunity to be an advanced practice provider within the Murfreesboro Medical Center in Murfreesboro TN, working with a multidisciplinary breast cancer team to provide quality, comprehensive care within a high-volume, high-risk breast/cancer survivor clinic in collaboration with our Breast Surgeons.

Requirements

  • Awarded an appropriate Advanced Practice Degree from an accredited school with licensure to practice in the state of Tennessee
  • Excellent customer service skills
  • Strong skills in communicating effectively with co-workers, providers, and patients
  • Ability to conduct daily functions in an appropriate, professional, and compassionate manner
  • Ability to manage/prioritize multiple tasks in an efficient and timely manner
  • Teamwork attitude
  • Flexibility to respond to changing demands
  • Ability to react calmly and competently in stressful situations
  • Effectively utilize computer systems and programs that are necessary to complete daily tasks
  • Utilization of Electronic Medical Record

Responsibilities

  • Has an appropriate medical degree from an accredited school with licensure to practice in the state of Tennessee.
  • Provides competent, evidence-based medical care by interviewing, examining, and treating patients.
  • Determines the level of urgency of follow-up care, referral/consultation appointments and diagnostic testing.
  • Consultations with new and returning patients for a variety of breast specific needs
  • Workups, including palpable masses; cancer follow-up/surveillance; genetic mutations; other breast concerns
  • Exercises final medical judgment and assumes ultimate responsibility for the performance of mid-level medical and clinical nursing staff.
  • Breast examinations
  • Must be comfortable assisting in managing cancer diagnosis and survivors with empathy and compassion
  • Breast film and pathology/lab review
  • To work in collaboration with our Breast Surgeons
  • Participates in quality improvement, management, continuing education, and other patient care programs according to personal and institutional requirements.
  • Assists in the resolution of patient complaints
