Job Overview The Nurse Practitioner Fellow provides medical services to patients, ensuring appropriate and professional medical services. The Nurse Practitioner (NP) provides care for either their patient panel or as an extension of a current provider-patient panel that begins at an average of eight patients per day and increases by two patients each month until the NP reaches a full patient schedule of 21 patients per day. Additionally, NP Fellow participates in mentored clinics, didactic lectures on a variety of topics, specialty rotations with community providers, conferences, and professional development opportunities with other clinical leaders.

Requirements

  • Graduated from an accredited Master's School of Nursing program within eighteen months of the program start date.
  • Current Nurse Practitioner licensure from the Board of Registered Nursing (BRN) in the State of California.
  • Family Nurse Practitioner certification from the ANCC or AANP in Family Nurse Practitioner is required.
  • Adult, Pediatric, and Women's Health Nurse Practitioner certification will be considered.
  • Completed training in the diagnosis and management of common as well as some complex medical conditions.
  • Previous experience with computer-based systems required; Electronic Medical Records (EPIC) experience preferred.
  • A minimum requirement of a valid BLS certification or higher, following the American Heart Association (AHA) or the American Red Cross guidelines.

Nice To Haves

  • Completion of AltaMed's Advanced Nurse Education Workforce (ANEW) Program is preferred.
  • Bilingual Spanish/English preferred, other languages considered.
