About The Position

Come join our dynamic, highly skilled Cardiothoracic (CT) Surgery inpatient APP team. The Cardiothoracic Surgery Advanced Health Practitioner position has clinical, procedural, administrative, and educational responsibilities in the care of adult patients requiring cardiac and thoracic surgery. The CT surgery service provides advanced surgical treatments, including coronary artery bypass grafting, aortic and mitral valve replacement, extracorporeal membrane oxygenation, and heart transplantation. We value individuals who are professional, with strong interpersonal and communication skills, and able to prioritize and adapt to changing situations. Our CT surgery APPs manage patients collaboratively with CT Surgery Fellows and Physicians, perform bedside procedures, and assist in the operating room. The CT Surgery APP assists in the development of practice protocols, evaluation of quality of care, and education of patients, families, and other health care practitioners. The final salary and offer components are subject to additional approvals based on UC policy. Your placement within the salary range is dependent on a number of factors including your work experience and internal equity within this position classification at UCSF. For positions that are represented by a labor union, placement within the salary range will be guided by the rules in the collective bargaining agreement. The salary range for this position is $100.48 - $130.31 (Hourly Rate). Requirements

  • Graduation from a California Board of Registered Nursing recognized Nurse Practitioner Program with a master's or doctoral degree aligned with the patient population and clinical role.
  • One (1) year of cardiothoracic surgery, vascular surgery, cardiology, or critical care ICU NP experience

Nice To Haves

  • Specialty certification: RNFA
  • Able to perform endoscopic vein harvesting
