Responsible for providing prenatal, intrapartum, and postpartum care, as well as well-woman gynecological care. Has full responsibility for management of medically and obstetrically uncomplicated patients, and provides collaborative care for patients with certain complications. Work requires the knowledge of theories, principles, and concepts normally acquired through completion of a Bachelor's degree in Nursing, Master’s Degree preferred, and completion of ACNM approved Nurse-Midwifery educational program. Certification required as a Certified Nurse Midwife and maintain a current CPR/Neonatal resuscitation certification. Licensure required as a Registered Nurse and Certified Nurse Midwife by the State of NJ with prescriptive privileges. Analytical ability; ability to resolve highly complex problems requiring the application of scientific/technical principles, theories, and concepts, and in-depth, experienced based knowledge. Performance of OB Ultrasound requires completion of establishes didactic and clinical preparation. Effective January 2019, St. Joseph’s Health requires certifications for Basic Life Support (BLS), Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) and Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) to be granted through the American Heart Association.
