About The Position

A leading cardiovascular specialty hospital in Plano, Texas is expanding its leadership team and seeking an experienced Nurse Manager for the Cardiovascular Intensive Care Unit (CVICU) . This newly added position supports an expanding 28-bed CVICU and provides shared leadership for approximately 40 staff, including ECMO clinicians and critical care nurses. You'll help guide a talented nursing team delivering advanced cardiac and vascular care in a technologically sophisticated, patient-focused environment.

Requirements

  • Current RN license (Texas or Compact State)
  • Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN)
  • Minimum of 4 years of recent acute care leadership experience in CVICU or ICU
  • Current BLS and ACLS (AHA or Red Cross)

Nice To Haves

  • Masters degree in Nursing, Healthcare Administration, or related field
  • National certification such as CCRN or CNRN
  • Prior leadership experience in high-volume cardiac or cardiovascular intensive care settings

Responsibilities

  • Provide hands-on leadership and administrative oversight for CVICU nursing operations.
  • Manage staffing, scheduling, and resource utilization to ensure safe and effective patient care.
  • Support unit expansion efforts, including advanced cardiac support and ECMO integration.
  • Collaborate with physicians and cross-departmental teams to improve clinical outcomes and care delivery.
  • Implement initiatives that enhance patient safety, quality metrics, and nurse engagement.
  • Oversee budget, supplies, and equipment management within departmental goals.
  • Promote a culture of professional growth, teamwork, and continuous improvement.
