Weston Hospital houses a combined Surgical Intensive Care Unit (SICU) and Cardiovascular Intensive Care Unit (CVICU), providing care for critically ill patients following surgery, particularly those with cardiovascular, thoracic, or vascular conditions. The SICU/CVICU at Weston supports patients with perioperative management needs, post-operative complications, and those requiring specialized intensive care after surgery. As an RN on our team, you will play a vital role throughout the patient care journey, providing expert, life-saving interventions while offering compassionate support that promotes safety, recovery, and a positive patient and family experience. In this role, you will work closely with patients and their loved ones, enhancing their understanding of their condition and treatment plan and ensuring they feel informed, supported, and cared for at every step.

Requirements

• Graduate from an accredited school of Professional Nursing (ADN or BSN program)
• Current state licensure as a Registered Nurse (RN)
• Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification through the American Heart Association (AHA) or American Red Cross
• One year of current acute care RN experience OR licensed military RN experience

Nice To Haves

• Bachelor’s of Science in Nursing (BSN)
• Cardiovascular ICU or Surgical ICU experience strongly preferred

Responsibilities

• Provide direct nursing care.
• Implement, monitor, evaluate, update and revise patient care plans.
• Monitor, record, document and communicate patients’ conditions.
• Administer prescribed medications and treatments.
• Note and carry out physician and nursing orders.
• Assess and coordinate patients’ discharge needs.
• Educate patients and their families.
